I'm normally a Hilton guy, but Comfort Inn may be winning me over. Clean, had everything I ever want in a stay. Great little breakfast spot. I liked everything about it, except, my TV had a couple lines straight through the middle. I brought it up day one. I did say it wasn't an emergency but I was told it would be changed the next day. It wasn't. I went to them a second time and on the third time the 4th of my five days they changed out the TV in like 20 minutes. I received a clear TV for my last night. It is in the Homewood area which I'm told is a nicer area (if there is such a thing) I would never go to Birmingham if I didn't absolutely have to. The rule of law is not really followed. Locals do what they want and Police don't get involved in anything they don't have to. NOT A GOOD PLCE. See most dangerous cities in US.

Well presented and maintained hotel - some noise issues

Birmingham was a stopover night so we didn't plan or expect to do anything here, however we were pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel to find it clean, tidy and welcoming. The staff were polite and happy to help and the front of desk and reception area were clean. Due to its location on Summit pkwy it was a refreshingly quiet hotel, except for the fact that we were placed on the top floor which did suffer quite badly from noise coming from what I can only guess was the AC units in the hallway. This vibrating noise was still loud in the room and even vibrated the room door handle. Other than the noise, the room was nice and spacious, well appointed, comfortable and clean, the large TV was a bonus. Overall we enjoyed our evening at the hotel, one of the nicest of a recent bad bunch - just need to get the noise issue sorted.

I am truly at a loss as to how to review this place. Firstly the staff was wonderful, so no complaints there. The hotel is in a nice area, clean and safe. The property is nice, the rooms are comfortable and clean. The problem is the smell. Overly perfumed and suffocating. If you have allergies or scent sensitivity stay away. The place is sealed up like a tomb, so no way possible to get some fresh air. Awful! Please, please Comfort Inn. Stop using that awful scent. Find something odorless.

Very friendly staff! We felt safe and were close to many areas of town. Agree that the odor-neutralizing smell in the halls was strong. Breakfast was good and typical. A very reasonably priced hotel and great place to sleep for the one night we needed it.

This hotel was close to the RTG golf course I was playing for a couple of days so I booked two nights. Bad mistake. The place smelled of disinfectant, the halls, the lobby and my room. It reminded me of embalming fluid. The room was good, they had a large screen and the bed was good. If they had not used the terrible smelling cleaning products it might have been enjoyable.
